National Accreditiation

Kinder Haus has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) - the world's largest organization working on behalf on young children. NAEYC Accreditation is a rigorous quality-improvement system that uses research-based standards to drive the high-quality learning environments. More than 7,000 programs are currently accredited by the NAEYC - less than 10 percent of all child care centers, preschools and kindergartens nationally achieve this recognition.   Kinder Haus is 1 of 26 programs in West Virginia to receive this recognition.

NAEYC shares it's mission in terms of three broad goals:

  • Improving professional practice and working conditions in early childhood education.
  • Supporting early childhood programs by working to achieve a high-quality system of early childhood education.
  • Building a high performing and inclusive organization of groups and individuals who are committed to promoting excellence in early childhood education for all young children.

The NAEYC's accreditation process involves a year-long self-study which includes training, parent surveys, staff surveys, and a thorough study of the physical environment during the validation visit.  The accreditation period is valid for 5 years at which time the program must once again complete the process.  By remaining committed to meeting the national standards, children receive the highest quality of care.
